The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the recruitment notification for the CDS (I) Examination, 2026. This national-level entrance exam is the gateway for graduates to join the Indian Military, Naval, Air Force, and Officers’ Training Academies.

UPSC CDS I 2026: Recruitment Overview

This year, UPSC has announced a total of 451 vacancies for various courses commencing in 2027.

Important Dates

  • Notification Released: 10th December 2025

  • Application Start Date: 10th December 2025

  • Last Date to Apply: 30th December 2025 (by 6:00 PM)

  • Correction Window: 31st December 2025 to 6th January 2026

  • Exam Date (CBT): 12th April 2026

  • Admit Card Release: Early April 2026

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:

    • IMA & OTA: Graduation degree in any stream.

    • INA: Degree in Engineering.

    • AFA: Degree in Engineering OR a Degree with Physics & Maths at 10+2 level.

  • Age Limit:

    • IMA/INA: Unmarried males (19–24 years).

    • AFA: 20–24 years (Relaxable up to 26 years for valid Commercial Pilot License holders).

    • OTA: Unmarried males & females (19–25 years).

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination: Objective type (Negative marking of $1/3$ applies).

  2. SSB Interview: Personality and Intelligence tests.

  3. Medical Examination: Final physical fitness check for recommended candidates.
