The Office of the Director General, Assam Rifles (Shillong) has officially released the recruitment notification for Compassionate Ground Appointment for the year 2026. This special recruitment drive is strictly for the Next of Kin (NoK) of Assam Rifles personnel who died while in service, died while on medical grounds, or went missing while in service b.

Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply: Only one dependent family member (Spouse, Son, Daughter, Brother, Sister) of deceased/missing/medically boarded out Assam Rifles personnel b.

Age Limit (as on 01 Jan 2026):

Rifleman (GD): 18 to 23 years.

Clerk / Other Trades: 18 to 25 years.

Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the specific Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) requirements of Assam Rifles b.
Selection Process
-
Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running and measurement of height/chest.

Trade Test (Skill Test): For technical and tradesmen posts (not for GD).

Written Examination: A basic test to assess general knowledge and aptitude.

Medical Examination: Detailed medical check-up as per CAPF standards.

Document Verification: Scrutiny of relationship certificates and educational documents b.
