The Punjab Subordinate Service Selection Board (PSSSB) has announced the recruitment for 532 vacancies of Jail Warder (Male) and Matron (Female) in the Punjab Jail Department. As per the latest update, the portal has been reopened, and the last date to apply has been extended.

Educational Qualification:

Must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) or its equivalent from a recognized board.

Must have passed Punjabi at the Matriculation (10th) level as a compulsory or elective subject.

Minimum: 18 Years

Maximum: 27 Years (General Category)

Age relaxation is applicable for SC/BC (up to 32 years) and other categories as per Punjab Government rules.

For Jail Warder (Male):

Height: 5′ 7″ (5′ 4.5″ for Dogras & Gurkhas)

Chest: 33″ (unexpanded) and 34.5″ (expanded)

Vision: Normal in both eyes (with or without spectacles); must not be color blind.

For Matron (Female):
-
Height: 5′ 3″

Weight: Minimum 50 Kg

Vision: Normal in both eyes.

Selection Process
-
Written Examination: Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions).

Punjabi Language Test: Qualifying nature (50% marks required).

Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying nature.
