Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Std. 10 and possess at least 2 years of experience in care of wild animals in a zoo or forest department’s rescue centre or breeding centre to be eligible for Animal Keeper posts.
2. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 33 years
- Age Relaxation: Reserved category candidates get 5 years relaxation, PwD candidates up to 10 years, and women candidates 5 years, subject to an overall maximum of 45 years as per Gujarat Government rules.
- Age calculation date: Age, qualification and experience will be reckoned as on the last date of online application submission.
3. Nationality
Candidates must be Indian citizens; detailed clause allows certain categories of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees and migrants from specified countries who have settled in India permanently and hold eligibility certificate from Gujarat Government, but candidates must be domicile of Gujarat for this post.

- Unreserved (General) Candidates: Rs. 500/- as application fee through online/net banking only.
- Other Categories (Reserved): Rs. 250/- as application fee through online/net banking only.

Salary/Stipend
- Animal Keeper will receive fixed pay of Rs. 21,100/- per month for the first 5 years as per RMC rules.
- After satisfactory completion of 5 years and subject to requirement of the post, pay will be placed in the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix Rs. 15,000–47,600 (Pay Matrix IS-2).
Selection Process
