India Post GDS Recruitment 2026
The Department of Posts (India Post) has released a massive recruitment notification for the year 2026, inviting applications for 28,636 vacancies of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), Branch Postmasters (BPM), and Assistant Branch Postmasters (ABPM). This recruitment is purely based on academic merit, and there is no written examination.

Eligibility Criteria (As on 14.02.2026)

Educational Qualification: * Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English.

The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard.

Other Requirements: Basic knowledge of Computer, Cycling, and Adequate means of Livelihood.

Age Limit: 18 to 40 years.

Relaxation: SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwD (10 years).

Selection Process & Salary

Selection Mode: No Exam. Selection is based on the System Generated Merit List prepared on the basis of 10th-grade marks (converted to 4 decimal points).

Monthly Salary (TRCA):

BPM: ₹12,000 – ₹29,380
-
ABPM/Dak Sevak: ₹10,000 – ₹24,470
