SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Recruitment 2026
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has outlined the recruitment schedule for the Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination, 2026 in its official annual calendar. This recruitment aims to fill Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted) technical posts in various Central Government departments such as CPWD, MES, BRO, and CWC.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Degree Holders: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

Diploma Holders: 3-year Diploma in relevant engineering + 2 years of experience (required for specific departments like BRO and MES).

Age Limit (as of 01-01-2026):

CPWD & CWC: Up to 32 Years.

Other Departments: Up to 30 Years.

(Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Govt rules).

📖 Exam Pattern
The selection process consists of two stages, both in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode:

Paper-I (200 Marks): General Intelligence & Reasoning (50), General Awareness (50), and General Engineering (100).

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks.

Paper-II (300 Marks): 100 objective questions based on the chosen Engineering stream (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical).

Negative Marking: 1.00 mark.
